Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Atlassian Developer with extensive experience in integrating Atlassian tools (particularly Jira and Confluence) with SharePoint and Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Jira workflows, plugin development, and customization, along with expertise in Microsoft’s ecosystem. This role requires hands-on experience in automating processes, streamlining workflows, and building secure integrations between Jira/Confluence, SharePoint, and Azure.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop: Create custom solutions, plugins, and scripts for Atlassian Jira and Confluence, tailored to meet business needs.
- Integrate Atlassian with SharePoint and Azure: Develop, test, and implement seamless integrations between Jira/Confluence and SharePoint as well as Azure AD and Azure DevOps.
- Workflow Customization: Customize Jira workflows, screens, permissions, notifications, and automations to optimize project management processes.
- API Management: Develop and maintain API connections, managing REST API calls between Jira, Confluence, and other systems.
- Automation and Scripting: Leverage scripting languages (Groovy, Python, JavaScript) to automate tasks, build custom reports, and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and Support: Provide day-to-day support and troubleshoot issues within Atlassian applications, integrations, and any automation scripts.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation, follow coding standards, and ensure high-quality practices for all development and integrations.
Requirements:
Experience: 3-6 years of experience as an Atlassian developer, with strong skills in Jira, Confluence, and integration development.
Technical Skills:
- Jira & Atlassian Development: Proficiency with Jira API, Groovy scripting, and Atlassian SDK for plugin development.
- SharePoint Expertise: Experience with SharePoint Online, including knowledge of SharePoint REST API.
- Azure Knowledge: Strong understanding of Azure services, including Azure AD, Azure DevOps, and related API services.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java, Python, and JavaScript; experience with PowerShell is a plus.
- Secure Integrations: Experience developing secure integrations with OAuth, SAML, and API tokens.
- Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex integration issues.
- Certifications: Atlassian certifications (ACP-JSW, ACP-JA) and Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Migration Projects: Previous experience in large-scale migration projects, especially Jira Server to Data Center or cloud migrations.
- DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Microsoft Ecosystem: Knowledge of additional Microsoft services like Power Automate and Power BI for enhanced reporting.
To implement an integrated solution using JIRA and Azure DevOps that enables end-to-end project management, efficient issue tracking, change management, and streamlined deployment processes:
- JIRA for Requirement Gathering and Approval Workflow:
- Use JIRA to create and manage Business Requirement Documents (BRDs).
- Approval workflows within JIRA for validation by business, technical, and infosec teams.
- Azure DevOps for Project Management and Deployment:
- Integrate Azure DevOps for project tracking, sprint management, and CI/CD deployments.
- Automated Issue Tracking with JIRA API:
- Implement JIRA’s API to automate ticket creation and management for helpdesk issues.
- Cross-Platform Integration:
- Set up bi-directional integrations for data synchronization between JIRA and Azure DevOps to streamline updates and deployments.
JIRA Functionalities:
- BRD Creation: Users can create BRDs in JIRA, linking each requirement to specific business and technical goals.
- Approval Workflow: Configure custom workflows to capture necessary approvals from stakeholders, with automated notifications for pending actions.
- Task Tracking and Ticket Management: Support both project-specific tasks and helpdesk tickets using JIRA’s native issue types.
- JIRA API Integration: Use JIRA API to allow helpdesk systems to push issues directly into JIRA, creating tickets without needing extra licenses.
Azure DevOps Functionalities:
- Project and Task Management: Manage project timelines, backlogs, and task assignments in Azure DevOps.
- Code Repository: Leverage Azure DevOps repositories to store and version project code.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Automate deployments through Azure DevOps pipelines and track release progress from JIRA.
- Cross-Platform Notifications: Send alerts to JIRA users on code merges, build failures, and deployment statuses.
Integration Requirements:
- Bi-Directional Data Sync: Ensure changes in JIRA (e.g., ticket status updates) reflect in Azure DevOps and vice versa.
- Status Tracking: Sync issue status, comments, and attachments from JIRA to Azure DevOps and vice versa.
- Automated Notifications: Configure alerts for stakeholders across both platforms at each stage of the project.
Non-Functional Requirements:
- Scalability: The solution should support an increase in users and project volume without impacting performance.
- Security: Data access should be controlled via role-based permissions, with OAuth for JIRA API access to ensure secure integration.
- Reliability: Ensure high availability of integration with minimal downtime.
